Job Title: Warehouse Lead

Location: Columbus, OH
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Training on 1st Shift; potential transition to 2nd Shift based on business needs

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Lead to oversee daily picking and warehouse operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of pickers, ensuring production goals are met, and maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong leadership skills, RF scanner experience, and forklift operation expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the daily activities of warehouse pickers to meet production goals
• Communicate daily priorities and performance expectations to team members
• Operate forklifts to stack, move, and organize pallets of merchandise
• Accurately pull orders using RF scanners and pick sheets
• Build and prepare pallets for shipment according to company and customer specifications
• Train new employees on proper procedures, safety practices, and equipment use
• Monitor work quality and ensure adherence to company standards
• Report daily progress, issues, and production outcomes to management
• Communicate out-of-stocks or missing items to receiving or management
• Perform daily forklift inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
• Promote a positive team environment through leadership, respect, and accountability

Requirements

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Warehouse Lead
• Experience using RF scanners (RF gun) in a warehouse setting
• Forklift experience required; certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math (addition, subtraction, division)
• Comfortable using a two-way radio for communication
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead
• Ability to stand and work on their feet for extended periods
• Sufficient hearing to recognize warehouse equipment sounds such as horns and backup alarms
