Job Description
Job Title: Forming Department -Press Break/Forming Technician
Schedule: M-TH 6 am-3 pm, F 6 am-12 pm
precision sheet metal fabricator, machining and welding shop.
We manufacture a wide range of high-quality components and finished products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Of the Press Brake Operator
Read and interpret blueprints (GD& T), mics, and calipers to comprehend work orders
Ability to identify metals /materials accurately, ensuring appropriate stock is
available to start a project
Operates power brake, which bends metal by forcing metal between the movable
ram and the horizontal bed. Position the work piece manually to align layout marks to dies.
Selects, positions, and aligns dies in the machine ram and bed.
Sets stops on machine bed and repositions stock to run successive pieces, or to
perform multiple operations
Knowledgeable of manufacturing math (bent allowance, K factors, joggle loss, etc.)
The dimensions of work workpiece.
Read Travelers and understand how to route parts to the next operation.
Must be able to do their setups.
Reads the Blueprint to determine a flat part layout, bend allowance, and part
development.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized 5-S work station
Follow the processes from beginning to end to ensure the quality of parts
Perform quality checks on parts with common measuring tools and purpose-built tools.
gauges in compliance with company drawings, travelers, and specifications
Job Requirements
Ability to determine proper dies, setups of dies, setups of gauges, and adjustments
of ram stroke to form all types of parts.
Proper angle and length without the use of a work instruction.
Ability to determine the forming sequence of multiple hit parts with and without the
use of work instructions.
Must be able to accurately read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions.
Responsible for performing Quality Assurance checks on work to ensure product
specifications are maintained.
Must possess good communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Capable of bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for
long periods while performing physically demanding repetitive job tasks.
Capable of regular lifting of randomly sized items up and able to lift
Highly Self-Motivated.
Punctuality and Good Attendance are a Must.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing, along with the ability
to do basic math. Ability to make decisions and solve problems by using logic to identify key facts,
explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
