Job Description
Job Summary:
The Main Line Utilities Foreman will guide, assign, schedule and supervise the work of staff to ensure production goals. $80k+ Company Truck
Monday-Friday 6:30am-4pm
Duties/Responsibilities:
Follows Values, Vision and Mission
Oversees crew members to ensure quality of work is being performed in a timely manner on a day-to-day basis
Determines project daily requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers
Understanding of SOW and change orders with proper documentation (generate signature/approval before proceeding)
Purchase order review and material release
Keep track of material stock and orders
Identifies and resolves problems to achieve production goals
Performs daily logs describing any issues, production and conversations through the day (recap through email/smartsheet) with proper documentation.
Weekly field meetings with GC’s/clients and proper communication
Operates equipment and tools (working Foreman)
Coach future leaders
Sets Safety example by following safety guidelines and ensures all crew members follow safety, including morning huddles
Weekly crew time and attendance
Perform topo shots and supply to DTK.
Schedule daily inspections
Schedule/perform testing of utility systems and/or subgrade compaction with updated testing logs: sanitary/water/storm
Develop 2-week look-a-head schedules
Proper documentation through daily logs, photos and emails
Required Skills/Abilities:
Expert in all laborer duties
Strong ability to troubleshoot
Strong ability to set line and grade
Thorough understanding of construction trades, materials, methods, and tools used
Knowledge of all types of pipes and fittings
Strong ability to read blueprints/construction specs
Understanding of Earthwork (cut/fill) and utility installation process
Strong ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions
Strong ability to effectively communicate and problem solve
Willing to learn, develop, coach and train
Understanding of schedules and forward thinking
Understanding of GPS and technology equipment
Education and Experience:
6+ years construction experience
Task Lead experience
Valid driver’s license or State ID
CPR and First Aid (Thompson will train if necessary)
10-hour OSHA certification
30-hour OSHA certification
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to traverse different types of worksites and bend, climb, stretch, and reach
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull 50-pound loads at a time
Must be able to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to concrete, dirt, fumes, and loud noise levels
Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day
Must be able to work long hours and Saturdays when needed
