Job Description
1st Shift – Mechanical Design Engineer
Monday – Friday 8 am – 4:30 pm
Pay Negotiable
Hartland, WI
Summary:
This company is recognized worldwide as a global manufacturer of induction sealing systems. The packaging industry has relied upon Pillar’s technologically advanced induction sealers to:
General Function
Prepare layouts, drawings, or diagrams of our machinery or electrical panels, calculate dimensions,
tolerances and technical specifications in accordance with established practices.
Essential Duties
Compile Bills of Materials and specification sheets.
Change drawings to suit customer or manufacturing needs.
Initiate change notices.
Prepare layout drawings or diagrams of machinery, electrical devices, attachments, controls, tools,
structures, etc. from data and specifications submitted by Designers or Engineers.
Calculate dimensions, allowances, and technical specifications involved in accordance with
established practices.
Follow up on the construction and testing of prototypes; assist with analyzing results and do
corrective redesigning when required.
Make required calculations to determine and establish acceptable standards of performance, material
selection, type of construction, etc.
Do all necessary investigations pertinent to the design and maintain reference criterion incidental to
designing.
Assist in preparation of proposals by providing sufficient information and specifications.
Provide specifications, product details, operating parameters, rating, and any revisions or corrections
necessary to insure that the product is sold and applied properly.
Advise management on system quotations that involve special applications of a product.
Interface with Manufacturing by providing all necessary drawings and instructions to manufacture
the product and test, before shipment, to ensure good product performance and reliability.
Provide shop assistance in methods of manufacture or assembly when an immediate decision is
required to complete or modify the product to meet customer requirements.
Interface with the Customer Service Department to provide necessary drawings, instructions, and
assistance to allow the Customer Service Department to install, repair, service, and update all
equipment in the field
Job Requirements
Education or Experience
Associate degree in Engineering or Mechanical Design and a minimum of two years of experience using
a CAD system and Solid Works
Qualification and Skills
Demonstrate experience and proficiency in general mechanical engineering principles. The ability to
interpret sales specifications as it relates to equipment design.
