Job Description
Responsibilities:
Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of processing flow on shift production summaries.
Direct and coordinate activities on shift to meet production goals.
Oversee all items associated with the quality system (e.g., polar charts, SPC, conformance to prints, etc.).
Recommend and implement continuous improvements to the production process.
Assist in customer problem response and resolution.
Maintain acceptable customer quality standards and take necessary corrective action to improve production quality.
Report, monitor, and address employee work performance.
Maintain high standards for safety, housekeeping, and general maintenance.
Monitor employee attendance, maintain time-off calendars, review and approve timesheets, and initiate status transactions in E-time as needed.
Conduct employee performance appraisals.
Perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred.
Computer proficiency in a Windows-based environment using Microsoft Office.
Strong skills in time and process management, process improvement, and efficiency improvement.
Strong focus on quality and safety.
Experience in team management, coaching, and decision making.
Good organizational skills.
Prior experience supervising in a union environment.
Experience working with a diverse workforce.
Effective oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
Excellent attendance record with no history of disciplinary issues.
Ability to make periodic presentations and give clear instructions.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Kanban.
Must be able to lead projects.
