our client is a metal fabricating company in Hammond, Indiana. We specialize in custom architectural products, commercial and industrial projects. Duties: Shift hours 6am-2:30 pm Mon- Fri Must be able to work OT Pay rate 16-20/hr based on the experience Responsible for carrying out the daily duties of a Mig Robot Programmer/ Fixture maker, including but not limited to: fabrication of fixtures to create metal assemblies as specified by work order, blueprints, drawing, templates, layout or verbal instructions. Quality control, assisting, coaching and instructing machine operators for the qualitative and timely completion of projects. SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: • Program, setup, and operate Mig welding robot for production runs. • Assist in design and fabrication of welding fixtures. • Plans sequence of operations, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal. • Inspects work piece for defects. • Measures work piece and verifies dimensions using micrometer, template, straightedge, and scale. Selects and positions flat, block, radius or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using hoist crane, measuring instruments and hand tools. • Provide input to enhance existing production methods. • Work independently with minimum supervision and/or willing to work in a team environment, which may include working on projects and/or equipment that is outside or of original job scope.
