- 1 Night Shift (Monday – Thursday 4:30 pm – 3:00 am)
- 1 Day Shift (Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Pay Rate: $60,000 – 64,000/year
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire
About the Automations & Controls Technician Role
Crown Staffing is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Automations & Controls Technician to provide hands-on support for production systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in PLC programming, electrical controls, and automation troubleshooting who enjoy solving technical challenges and improving system efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Program PLCs and design manufacturing control systems utilizing sensors, motors, and servos.
- Troubleshoot ladder logic and automation-related electrical or control problems.
- Provide maintenance and repair support for production automation and control systems.
- Develop and upgrade electronic systems for monitoring packaging and production equipment.
- Program and maintain data collection systems used in production.
- Assist maintenance staff with troubleshooting electrical and automation issues.
- Design and fabricate supplemental or custom control equipment as needed.
- Build and wire control panels for conveyors, machinery, and packaging lines.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on automation and control equipment.
- Create and maintain electrical drawings and documentation for all systems.
- Manage PLC software files and maintain accurate backups.
- Develop and track project schedules, budgets, and milestones.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support production and engineering objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining and programming PLCs and control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in ladder logic programming and PLC interfacing.
- Strong working knowledge of sensors, servos, and industrial automation components.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and procedure manuals.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and other computer-based tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.
- Flexible schedule to support maintenance and project needs as required.
