Job Description
Monday-Friday $32-$45
Objective:
Reporting to the Assembly Process Engineering Manager, this person will be responsible for the
implementation of processes to generate and optimize sub-assembly, assembly, testing, and
manufacturing sequencing for product lines across R.A Jones. Documentation may include, but is not
limited to: work instructions, Manufacturing Bill of Materials, standard work combination sheets, etc.
This role will be responsible for providing information in a manner that can be appropriately applied to
all Engineer To Order levels for each product line. The person in this role will be responsible for
collaborating with Engineering (Production and Development) to creating and updating all process
documentation based on developments, VAVE, ECOs, etc. to support achieving the targets the
business desires. This role will be responsible for working work manufacutirng, assembly, and
warehouse to solve problems to continusly improve the flow of work to improve safety, quality, delivery
and cost.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Designs and implements improvements on the existing machines with the goal of enhancing
performance, durability and reliability respecting the constraints of cost, time, quality levels,
technical standards and defined KPIs.
• Collaborate with Engineering on the design of tooling and fixtures to facilitate the assembly of
complex subassemblies and main assemblies.
• Produce standard assembly work instructions to ensure final product quality
• Suggest design for manufacturing and assembly efforts (DFMA)
• Create standard build schedules for established product lines
• Suggest BOM changes as necessary to promote build sequence and improved quality
• Travel up to 25%
• Regular communication and teamwork with assembly, manufacturing, and engineering
• Provide information on assembly hour estimates
• Support Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing activities
• Blue print reading
• Ensures the continuous performance improvement of the machinery assembly by applying LEAN
Manufacturing standards
Surpervision Received: General
Qualifications:
• 3 or more years of complex mechanical assembly experience or equivalent
• Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
• Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Solidworks or equivalent design experience
• Knowledge of engineering design techniques and standards
• Knowledge of design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA)
