Job Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated production equipment in both general manufacturing and controlled Medical Device production areas.
This role supports filling and packaging operations operating under cGMP and FDA requirements. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, respond to equipment issues, and support reliability improvements to help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production operations.
This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, good documentation practices, and the ability to work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams.
Core Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on filling, capping, labeling, conveying, and packaging equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
Diagnose equipment issues using structured troubleshooting methods.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
Support PLC and VFD troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred).
Replace defective components including motors, sensors, gearboxes, valves, and pneumatic components.
Document all maintenance activities accurately on controlled forms and in the CMMS system. Participate in root cause discussions to help reduce repeat equipment failures.
Maintain spare parts awareness and report critical component concerns.
Work safely in accordance with LOTO procedures, company SOPs, and safety policies. Collaborate with Production and Quality to minimize downtime while maintaining compliance standards.
Medical Device Area Responsibilities
•
Perform maintenance within FDA-regulated and ISO-classified Medical Device production areas. Follow cGMP and internal Quality System procedures when working on validated equipment. Understand that maintenance activities may impact product quality and compliance.
Maintain proper gowning and clean-as-you-go discipline when working in controlled areas. Ensure maintenance documentation is complete and audit-ready.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in automated manufacturing environments. Experience in FDA-regulated, pharmaceutical, food, or medical device manufacturing preferred but not required.
Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred).
Experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, pneumatic systems, and basic automation components. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Mechanical experience supporting filling lines, cappers, conveyors, pumps, and labeling systems preferred.
Familiarity with CMMS systems for work documentation (Fiix experience a plus).
Understanding of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Ability to work overtime and flexible hours as needed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•
Ability to work at heights and in elevated areas.
•
Ability to crouch, kneel, and lift from floor level.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 95% of shift).

Ability to operate a forklift.
•
Ability to work in temperatures between 50°F and 85°F.
Other Requirements
Must provide personal hand tools; specialty tools provided by the company.
PPE Requirements
Respirator, boot covers, dust mask, eye protection, face shield, gloves, apron when required. Steel toe or composite toe safety shoes with electrical hazard rating (company-provided after probationary period).
