Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) Job Details Louisville, KY Monday – Friday | 7:45 AM – 4:00 PM (sometimes until 4:30 PM) | $21.21 per hour Overtime possible Temp with intent to hire EDDA Requirements: Dental Assistant or EDDA certification At least 1 year of experience preferred About the EDDA Role: Assist with dental and medical emergencies according to OSHA and office procedures Maintain CPR certification Assist chair side during the administration of nitrous oxide Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts Clean and polish removable appliances Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients Record treatment information in patient records Capture x-rays of diagnostic quality Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to the dentist during exams and procedures to help maintain patientcomfort and the dentist’s efficiency Use and maintain hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards Manage asepsis and infection control protocols Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies Occasionally travel by car or plane to participate in continuing education or seminars Perform routine equipment maintenance and determine when maintenance is needed Other duties and tasks as periodically assigned Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Responsibilities: Re-cement a temporary or permanent crown with temporary cement and schedule follow-up appointment with the dentist Preliminarily fit and finish composite, using a slow-speed hand-piece if needed Fabricate temporary crowns that meet office standards for appearance and quality Provide diagnostic information by exposing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts to lab and office standards Fabricate temporary restorations, clean and polish removable appliances Prepare the treatment area by sterilizing, positioning, and delivering instruments for the dentist’s access Provide suctioning and hand instruments to the dentist during exams and procedures Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth as needed Manage asepsis and infection control protocols Why Work With Our Client: Competitive compensation Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (eligible date of hire) LTD and Life Insurance (Employer Paid) – eligible after 6 months of employment Employee Assistance Program (Employer Paid) – eligible date of hire 401k – eligible date of hire with an Employer match of up to 3% and an Employer contribution of 3% Vacation and Sick Time based on an accrual rate Relaxed environment, dress code, and schedule (Monday thru Friday) Opportunities for growth and advancement Supportive team environment Training provided Next Steps: Thank you for your interest in our Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) position!
