Job Description
Crown Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable EPA-Certified HVAC Facilities Maintenance Technician to support day-to-day operations of building systems within our facility. This role focuses on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems, while also assisting with general facilities upkeep. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, proactive, and experienced with equipment commonly found in commercial or industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Systems
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC/R systems including air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, heat pumps, split systems, exhaust systems, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose system issues using gauges, meters, and diagnostic tools; perform corrective actions efficiently.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and reliability.
- Handle, recover, and charge refrigerants in full compliance with EPA Section 608 regulations.
- Detect, repair, and document refrigerant leaks using approved methods and equipment.
Facilities Maintenance
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building mechanical systems including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, thermostats, and control components.
- Perform routine facilities maintenance tasks such as filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, and equipment cleaning.
- Support maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and building controls systems as assigned.
- Respond to facility service requests and emergency calls to ensure continuous operation of building systems.
- Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and work order documentation.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and audits.
Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal required).
- High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC trade school or apprenticeship preferred.
- 3+ years of HVAC service or facilities maintenance experience (commercial or industrial environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, building systems, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting, mechanical, and electrical skills.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background and safety screenings as required.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heights.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
- Boiler or chiller certification a plus.
- Knowledge of energy management principles.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Computer literacy for work order systems (e.g., CMMS).
Working Conditions
- Work performed indoors and outdoors depending on facility needs.
- May require shift work, overtime, or on-call rotation.
- Exposure to high noise levels, extreme temperatures, mechanical equipment, and chemicals.
