About the Horse Groomer Role
Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced and dependable Horse Groomer to support daily equine care operations in Lexington, KY. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of horses, ensuring they are healthy, clean, and properly prepared for training, riding, or competition.
This position works closely with trainers, riders, veterinarians, and farriers to ensure the horses receive proper care and attention.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for horses, including grooming, feeding, and stall cleaning
- Monitor horses for signs of injury, illness, or changes in behavior and report concerns
- Prepare horses for riding, training, or competitions
- Maintain clean and organized stalls, barns, and work areas
- Assist with feeding schedules and watering horses
- Support trainers, riders, veterinarians, and farriers during care and maintenance routines
- Follow barn procedures and maintain a safe working environment
Equipment Used
- Grooming tools such as brushes, curry combs, hoof picks, and mane combs
- Tack equipment including saddles, bridles, and halters
- Barn tools such as pitchforks, shovels, wheelbarrows, and water buckets for stall cleaning and feeding
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of equine grooming experience required
- Thoroughbred horse experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of horse care, grooming techniques, and barn safety practices
- Ability to work in an outdoor barn environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work as part of a team supporting trainers and barn staff
