Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our team. This role is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and fixtures used in manufacturing. The ideal candidate takes pride in hands-on craftsmanship, can work independently, and understands the importance of high-quality work in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Build, troubleshoot, repair, and modify dies, molds, and fixtures
  • Inspect finished tools and components to ensure they meet specifications
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and detailed specifications
  • Set up and operate manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses)
  • Perform routine maintenance and adjustments to tooling to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose tooling issues and make necessary repairs to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve tooling and processes
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, modifications, and builds
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker (or completion of an apprenticeship)
  • Strong blueprint reading and precision measuring skills (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Experience with manual machining operations
  • Knowledge of metal properties, machining practices, and heat-treating processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Journeyman Tool & Die certification
  • Experience with progressive die stamping or high-volume production environments
  • Familiarity with CNC machining is a plus
Work Environment:
  • Manufacturing / shop environment
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting required
  • Regular use of machining equipment and hand tools
  • Exposure to noise, metal shavings, and shop conditions
