About the Role
Crown Staffing is hiring a dependable and experienced Horse Groomer to support daily equine care operations in Lexington, KY. This role focuses on the health, cleanliness, and overall readiness of horses used for training, riding, and competition.
You will work closely with trainers, riders, veterinarians, and farriers to ensure each horse receives consistent, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily horse care including grooming, feeding, and stall cleaning
- Monitor horses for injury, illness, or behavioral changes and report concerns
- Prepare horses for training, riding, and competitions
- Maintain clean, organized barns, stalls, and work areas
- Follow feeding and watering schedules accurately
- Assist trainers, riders, veterinarians, and farriers as needed
- Follow all barn safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Tools & Equipment Used
- Grooming tools (brushes, curry combs, hoof picks, mane combs)
- Tack equipment (saddles, bridles, halters)
- Barn tools (pitchforks, shovels, wheelbarrows, water buckets)
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of equine grooming experience required
- Thoroughbred horse experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of horse care, grooming, and barn safety practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills
