Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating production equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards and meeting production goals. The ideal candidate will be able to follow work instructions, identify production issues, and support overall manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment independently in a safe and efficient manner while meeting quality and production standards.
- Follow work instructions, work orders, specification sheets, and production reporting requirements.
- Set up and arrange machines at the beginning of each shift to ensure production lines are properly prepared.
- Load and unload materials, parts, and finished products onto or from pallets, skids, conveyors, and production equipment.
- Inspect and pack manufactured products according to company quality standards.
- Operate auxiliary production equipment including tapers, printers, strappers, and cover-up equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify manufacturing issues that may impact efficiency or product quality.
- Recognize equipment problems and communicate corrective action recommendations to maintenance or mechanics.
- Perform minor machine maintenance including greasing, oiling, and routine upkeep.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation as required.
- Follow all GMP, AIB, SQF, and company safety procedures and policies.
- Comply with all personnel and product safety requirements.
- Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and production equipment safely.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and production facility environment.
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
