DME Billing & Administrative Clerk
Location: Louisville, KY
Pay: $18–$20 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00am – 4:00pm
Job Summary
Crown Staffing is seeking a DME Billing & Administrative Clerk to support a healthcare-focused office in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for accurate and timely DME billing while also assisting with general administrative duties. The ideal candidate has hands-on DME billing experience, strong knowledge of Medicare guidelines, and excellent organizational skills in a professional office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Submit clean and accurate DME claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payers.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage requirements.
- Ensure all required documentation is obtained and maintained, including CMNs, LMNs, prescriptions, and delivery tickets.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and reconcile payments.
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims and resolve discrepancies.
- Correct and resubmit denied claims in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer-specific billing guidelines.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal staff regarding billing matters.
- Post payments, adjustments, and refunds as needed.
- Maintain accurate billing records and logs.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews when required.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred).
- 1–3 years of DME billing experience (required).
- Strong knowledge of Medicare DME guidelines and HCPCS coding.
- Experience with insurance claim submission and follow-up.
- Familiarity with DME billing software and clearinghouses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Billing certification such as CPB, CBCS, or equivalent.
- Experience billing oxygen, mobility equipment, CPAP, or other complex DME items.
- Knowledge of prior authorizations and payer-specific requirements.
- Experience handling appeals and audit responses.
