About the Cook Role
Crown Staffing is seeking a passionate and dependable Cook to join a food service team in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you will prepare and cook meals while ensuring quality, presentation, and food safety standards are met. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, working with fresh ingredients, and contributing to a positive dining experience.
You’ll work in a supportive environment with production guidelines and safety procedures in place to help you succeed while bringing recipes and culinary creativity to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and production guidelines
- Ensure food quality, portion control, and proper presentation
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and storage standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with food prep and ingredient preparation as needed
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe food handling practices
- Follow production schedules to ensure meals are prepared and served on time
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and supervisors
- Assist with additional kitchen or food service duties as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook or in a related food service role required
- Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage practices
- Ability to obtain Food Safety Certification if not already certified
- Basic math and counting skills for recipe measurements and food preparation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
