Small Engine Mechanic Job Details
Frankfort, KY
Pay: $18.00 – $22.00/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Type: Full-Time
Small Engine Mechanic Requirements
- Previous experience repairing small engines required
- Experience in a lumber yard, farming, agricultural, or outdoor equipment environment required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on riding lawn mowers, chainsaws, weed eaters, blowers, and similar equipment preferred
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of tools, diagnostics, and repair procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engine equipment and outdoor power tools
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on riding lawn mowers, primarily Exmark equipment
- Service and repair Stihl products including chainsaws, weed eaters, and blowers
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Complete equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Operate forklifts and assist with moving equipment as needed
- Maintain accurate repair records and communicate equipment status updates
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Assist with additional equipment maintenance and yard duties as assigned
- Follow all company safety procedures and equipment guidelines
