Prep Cook Requirements

Basic mathematical skills required for measuring ingredients, portioning food, and following recipes
Knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredient handling, and kitchen operations
Minimum 1 year of prep cook, food preparation, or food service experience preferred

About the Prep Cook Role

As a Prep Cook, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing ingredients according to recipes, production sheets, and supervisor instructions
Safely operating kitchen equipment and utilizing proper knife skills for cutting, chopping, and portioning ingredients (knife handling, kitchen safety)
Maintaining compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and temperature control procedures
Measuring and portioning ingredients accurately to ensure product consistency
Washing, peeling, slicing, and preparing fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients for service
Monitoring food temperatures and properly storing products to maintain quality and safety
Cleaning and sanitizing workstations, utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas
Assisting cooks and kitchen staff with food production and service preparation as needed
Rotating inventory and properly labeling products according to company procedures
Following all company safety standards and maintaining a clean, organized work environment
