Manual Machinist Job Details

Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:45 PM

Pay Rate: $17.00–$23.00/hr, based on experience

Location: Walton, KY

Manual Machinist Requirements/Qualifications

Previous manual machining experience required.
Experience operating manual lathes and milling machines.
Ability to read, interpret, and understand shop blueprints.
Experience using metric measuring instruments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
Ability to machine parts accurately according to blueprints and specifications.
Previous experience with machine setup, adjustments, and tooling.
Understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
Ability to operate a variety of machining equipment and hand tools.
Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred.
Willingness to learn waterjet machining equipment.
Interest in expanding skills through welding and assembly operations.
Associate degree, vocational education, some college, or equivalent experience preferred.
Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision.
Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to follow written instructions and technical specifications.
Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Ability to obtain a passport for work-related travel if needed.
Willingness to work mandatory overtime when required, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to travel for work when required.
Excellent attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic required.

About the Manual Machinist Role

As a Manual Machinist, your responsibilities will include:

Operate manual lathe machines to manufacture precision components.
Machine parts according to shop blueprints and technical specifications.
Set up and operate manual milling machines.
Select appropriate tools and machining methods for assigned projects.
Measure and inspect finished components using metric measuring instruments.
Perform machine adjustments to maintain product accuracy and quality.
Read and interpret technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
Monitor machining processes to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
Identify and troubleshoot machining or equipment issues.
Assist with the operation of waterjet cutting equipment as skills develop.
Support the production of custom-machined parts using various manufacturing methods.
Perform quality inspections on completed and in-process components.
Maintain accurate measurements and verify finished products against specifications.
Assist with welding and assembly operations as needed.
Work with team members to complete machining and manufacturing projects.
Maintain machining equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Follow established manufacturing procedures and workplace safety guidelines.
Support additional machining and fabrication tasks as assigned.
