Job Description

Punch Press Setup/Operator
Monday – Friday | 1st shift 5am-1:30pm   | Pay Starting at $20-$30 (based on experience)

Punch Press Setup/Operator Requirements
  • Previous experience operating and setting up punch presses in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to assemble, install, align, and adjust dies according to specifications
  • Experience reading work instructions, production specifications, and quality standards
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including Micro-Vu and comparator equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify production defects and make machine adjustments as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Ability to document production quantities and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and follow all safety procedures

About the Punch Press Setup/Operator Role
As a Punch Press Setup/Operator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Setting up tooling and dies to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, and crimp metal components according to production specifications
  • Assembling, installing, and aligning dies in punch press equipment to ensure proper operation and product quality
  • Adjusting ram stock to specified lengths and positioning materials for accurate feeding into the press
  • Starting, operating, and monitoring punch press machinery to detect misalignment, malfunctions, or production issues
  • Inspecting parts using Micro-Vu, comparator equipment, and visual inspection methods to verify conformance to specifications
  • Monitoring material flow, machine performance, and product quality while making adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency
  • Installing and adjusting micro switches and die protection devices to support safe and accurate operation
  • Running pilot production samples of approximately 100–150 pieces to verify setup accuracy before full production runs
  • Performing in-process quality inspections throughout production and submitting parts for Quality Assurance dimensional approval
  • Communicating with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to coordinate production activities and resolve issues
  • Recording production quantities and completing required manufacturing documentation accurately
  • Following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organized work area free from debris
  • Assisting with additional manufacturing duties and special assignments as directed by management
