Accounting Specialist Job Details
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay Rate: $31.00–$40.00/hour
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Accounting Specialist Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Online preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Experience with payroll processing preferred
- Knowledge of sales tax and basic accounting principles preferred
- Corporate/Personal tax return experience is a plus
- Experience in construction, service, or project-based industries is a plus
About the Accounting Specialist Role
As an Accounting Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and process vendor payments
- Generate customer invoices and apply customer payments
- Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Support payroll processing and maintain payroll records
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
- Support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
- Communicate with internal teams and customers as needed
- Complete additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
