Registered Nurse – PICU
Somerset, KY
Pay: $36.00/hour
Travel Assignment | 13 Weeks
Schedule Information
7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current RN license required
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience required
- PICU or pediatric critical care nursing experience required
- Strong patient assessment, medication administration, infusion management, and clinical documentation skills
- Experience caring for critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity setting
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- PALS and other pediatric critical care certifications preferred based on facility requirements
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced critical care environment while maintaining professionalism and compassionate patient care
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments and continuously monitor patient conditions
- Administer medications, infusions, and treatments accurately and safely
- Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and support urgent or emergent interventions
- Educate and support patients’ families throughout the care process
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary pediatric care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards throughout the shift
