Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Somerset, KY
Pay: $45.00/hour
Position Type: Travel Assignment | 13 Weeks
Schedule Information
- Day Shift
- 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Registered Nurse – CVICU Requirements
- Current Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license required
- Minimum of two years of recent Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or comparable cardiovascular critical care experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Strong cardiovascular assessment, medication administration, infusion management, and critical care nursing skills
- Experience caring for critically ill cardiovascular patients in a high-acuity hospital setting
- Proficiency with cardiac monitors, ventilators, IV pumps, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, emergency equipment, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while providing exceptional patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor cardiac and hemodynamic status
- Administer medications, vasoactive infusions, blood products, and other prescribed therapies safely and accurately
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and assist with emergency interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record while ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care initiatives while delivering compassionate, evidence-based critical care
