Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist (Cath Lab Tech)
Somerset, KY
Pay: $41.00/hour
Position Type: Travel Assignment | 13 Weeks
Schedule Information
- Day Shift
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Cath Lab Technologist Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Technology program preferred
- Current ARRT, RCIS, or other applicable Cath Lab credential preferred or required by the facility
- Minimum of two years of recent Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, cardiac procedures, and patient monitoring
- Experience with cardiac catheterization equipment, fluoroscopy systems, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment while maintaining patient safety and quality care
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Prepare procedure rooms by ensuring equipment, supplies, and sterile instruments are available and functioning properly
- Position and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures while maintaining comfort and safety
- Operate cardiac catheterization, fluoroscopy, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment according to established protocols
- Maintain a sterile field and assist the procedural team throughout each case
- Document procedures accurately within the electronic medical record and departmental systems
- Follow hospital infection prevention, radiation safety, and quality assurance standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the cardiovascular care team to deliver exceptional patient care
