Somerset, KY
Pay: $34.00/hour
Position Type: 13-Week Contract | Day Shift
Schedule Information
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule based on facility needs
Behavioral Health RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent behavioral health, psychiatric, inpatient nursing, or comparable clinical experience
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health nursing practices and patient safety protocols
- Experience administering medications and treatments according to physician orders and treatment plans
- Ability to complete comprehensive physical and behavioral assessments
- Strong communication, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
Equipment Used
- Vital sign and patient monitoring equipment
- Medication administration equipment
- Electronic medical records (EMR)
- Safety equipment
- Standard behavioral health nursing supplies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients receiving inpatient behavioral health services
- Complete physical and behavioral assessments and monitor patients for changes in condition or behavior
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to physician orders and treatment plans
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for patients and staff
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary treatment team to deliver quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Assist with patient mobility and positioning as needed
- Respond quickly to behavioral and medical emergencies
- Perform additional nursing duties as assigned
