Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric – Nights
Lexington, KY
Pay: $57.50/hour

Schedule Information
- Night shift
- 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- 13-week assignment
- Assignment dates: September 14, 2026–December 13, 2026
- Must float between adult and child psychiatric units
- Cross-training provided
Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license required
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Handle With Care certification required
- Facility provides the Handle With Care course during orientation
- Ability and willingness to float between adult and child units
- Strong behavioral-health assessment and patient-monitoring skills
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment procedures
- Ability to recognize and respond to behavioral-health emergencies
- Strong crisis-intervention and de-escalation skills
- Ability to maintain patient safety in a psychiatric-care environment
- Strong clinical-documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary treatment teams
- Compassionate and professional approach to patients and families
- Knowledge of patient-safety, infection-control, and medication-administration procedures
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct psychiatric nursing care during the night shift.
- Float between adult and child behavioral-health units as assigned.
- Complete mental-health and physical patient assessments.
- Monitor patient behavior, symptoms, vital signs, and changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Monitor patients for treatment effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment.
- Participate in crisis intervention and patient de-escalation.
- Respond promptly to urgent behavioral or medical changes.
- Develop, update, and follow individualized nursing care plans.
- Educate and support patients and their families.
- Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to appropriate clinical staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary treatment-team members.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow all facility patient-safety, infection-control, behavioral-health, and medication-administration procedures.
About the Registered Nurse – Psychiatric Role
Crown Staffing is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric for a 13-week night-shift contract in Lexington, KY. This position provides psychiatric nursing care across adult and child behavioral-health units.
The ideal candidate will hold an active Kentucky RN license and current CPR/BLS certification. Candidates must be comfortable floating between adult and child units, managing behavioral-health emergencies, administering medications, maintaining patient safety, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary treatment team. Cross-training and the required Handle With Care course are provided during orientation.
