Schedule Information
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 1st shift
- Mandatory overtime as production needs require
Press Operator Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- At least two years of machine-operation experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Previous press-operation or metal-stamping experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set up, operate, and monitor automatic press equipment
- Ability to use gauges and other measuring devices
- Ability to read and follow safety notices, control plans, quality alerts, and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a manufacturing team
- Availability to work mandatory overtime as required
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality, and proper use of personal protective equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Start, set up, and operate automatic press equipment according to job-specific instructions.
- Position and clamp feed guides as required.
- Assist with threading metal strips from the decoiler through pinch rollers and into the die.
- Load metal blanks into hoppers or conveyors.
- Verify that dies are clear of foreign objects before beginning production.
- Adjust the ram, feed, and die-protection systems as needed.
- Monitor equipment and production processes for safe and efficient operation.
- Meet established production and quality goals.
- Complete first-piece, last-piece, and in-process quality inspections.
- Use visual inspections, gauges, and measuring devices to verify product quality.
- Ensure that only approved parts move to the next production operation.
- Report equipment malfunctions and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Pack and stack finished products according to established procedures.
- Complete production reports, quality alerts, and other required documentation accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized press and production area.
- Follow all machine-guarding, safety, PPE, and operational procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members to meet production and customer requirements.
- Perform additional manufacturing duties as assigned.
Work Environment
This position works in an active manufacturing environment around stamping presses and other moving mechanical equipment. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, vibration, dust, odors, oil, fumes, and elevated noise levels. Required personal protective equipment must be worn at all times.
