Schedule Information
- Day shift
- 8:00 AM–8:30 PM
- 13-week assignment
MRI Technologist Requirements
- At least one year of MRI Technologist experience required
- Current ARRT and MRI credentials as required by the facility
- Active BLS certification required
- Applicable Kentucky imaging credentials must be active and in good standing
- Experience performing MRI safety screenings
- Knowledge of MRI safety zones, contraindications, and emergency procedures
- Ability to position patients and obtain diagnostic-quality images
- Experience operating MRI scanners, coils, and positioning equipment
- Knowledge of contrast-administration procedures
- Experience using PACS and electronic medical records
- Strong clinical-documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with radiologists and other clinical professionals
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
- Commitment to infection-control, imaging-quality, and patient-safety standards
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Review imaging orders and verify examination requirements.
- Complete thorough MRI safety screenings before examinations.
- Identify implants, devices, conditions, and other potential MRI contraindications.
- Explain procedures and provide appropriate instructions to patients.
- Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout MRI examinations.
- Select the appropriate coils, sequences, and positioning devices.
- Operate MRI scanners and related imaging equipment safely.
- Obtain diagnostic-quality images that meet facility standards.
- Administer contrast when authorized, required, and within the permitted scope of practice.
- Monitor patients for reactions or changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate patient, procedure, contrast, and imaging records.
- Transfer completed images to PACS for radiologist review.
- Communicate imaging concerns and urgent findings according to facility procedures.
- Follow all MRI safety, infection-control, and patient-care requirements.
- Maintain clean and properly prepared imaging rooms and equipment.
- Perform additional diagnostic-imaging duties as assigned.

About the MRI Technologist Role
