Job Description
Crown staffing is urgently in need of a qualified Senior Cook for a local school.
Senior Cook Job Details
Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am-330pm
Pay Rate: $18.24
Location: Kansas City, MO
Senior Cook Requirements/Qualifications:
- Previous experience in food preparation
- Previous experience in a lead or senior cook position preferred
- Food Safety certification may be required in accordance with regulations
- Knowledge of cooking methods and kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation and safety procedures
- Ability to follow recipes, menus and production schedules
- Ability to accurately measure ingredients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment
- ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and other food service personnel
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff
About the Senior Cook Role
As a Senior Cook your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various periods, including breakfast and lunch
- Prepare meals and menu items according to standardized recipes, production schedules and established nutritional guidelines
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, steamers, grills, fryers, mixers, slicers, and other food preparation equipment
- Monitor food temperatures during preparation, holding and service
- Accurately measure ingredients and maintain proper portion sizes
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, chopping, mixing, seasoning, and otherwise processing food as required
- Maintain inventor, store, label, date and rotate ingredients
- Follow all applicable school district policies, health department regulations, HACCP procedures and food service guidelines
