Shipping & Receiving Material Handler Job Details
Monday–Friday | 1st Shift | 7am–3:00 PM | $18.00/Hour
- Overtime possible and mandatory based on production needs.
Shipping & Receiving Material Handler Requirements
- Shipping and receiving experience required
- Must be proficient operating a forklift
- Steel-toe boots required; additional task-specific PPE will be provided onsite
About the Shipping & Receiving Material Handler Role
As a Shipping & Receiving Material Handler, your responsibilities will include:
- Receiving incoming goods and verifying the quality and quantity of materials unloaded from trucks and trailers
- Comparing received materials against supplier counts and reporting discrepancies
- Safely loading and unloading trucks using a forklift or clamp truck
- Transporting materials throughout the shipping dock and warehouse
- Maintaining accurate shipping and receiving records for incoming and outgoing products
- Documenting returned goods and damaged products
- Preparing required paperwork for outbound shipments
- Verifying the accuracy of incoming and outgoing Bills of Lading (BOL)
- Reporting major discrepancies, over-shipments, substitutions, or damaged materials to the supervisor
- Safely stacking and storing raw materials and finished goods in designated warehouse areas
- Verifying finished-goods pallet tags before products are stored or shipped
- Coordinating with drivers to maintain a safe and efficient flow of traffic at the loading docks
- Following all company safety procedures, including forklift safety requirements
- Performing additional shipping, receiving, forklift, and material-handling duties as required
