Crown Staffing is urgently hiring for a Material Handler – Receiving.
Material Handler – Receiving Job Details
Pay Rate: $17.00/hr
Location: Florence, KY
Material Handler – Receiving Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of recent sit-down forklift experience required.
- Valid driver's license required; learner's permits and identification cards are not accepted.
- Previous warehouse, receiving, or material handling experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Experience loading and unloading trucks using forklift equipment.
- Ability to move, organize, and transport materials throughout the facility.
- Willingness to perform both forklift and non-forklift duties throughout the shift.
- Experience wrapping pallets and preparing materials for storage or distribution.
- Ability to accurately label products and materials.
- Basic understanding of shipping and receiving documentation.
- Ability to complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Steel-toe safety boots or shoes required; composite-toe and mesh footwear are not permitted.
- Ability to wear required safety glasses and other designated PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical warehouse tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of forklift safety procedures and warehouse equipment guidelines.
- Willingness to assist with additional receiving and warehouse responsibilities.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic required.
About the Material Handler – Receiving Role
As a Material Handler – Receiving, your responsibilities will include:
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Receive incoming shipments and assist with organizing materials.
- Transport products between receiving areas and designated warehouse locations.
- Move and position pallets using forklift equipment.
- Wrap and secure pallets for storage or transportation.
- Label incoming products and materials accurately.
- Assist with receiving paperwork and warehouse documentation.
- Verify materials and shipments according to established procedures.
- Organize products in designated storage areas.
- Assist with maintaining an efficient flow of materials through the receiving department.
- Perform general material handling duties when not operating a forklift.
- Support loading and unloading activities as needed.
- Inspect materials for visible damage and report concerns to supervisors.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse work areas.
- Follow established forklift operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Communicate receiving or material handling concerns to department supervisors.
- Work cooperatively with warehouse and receiving team members.
- Assist with additional warehouse tasks based on operational needs.
- Complete other receiving and material handling responsibilities as assigned.
