Crown Staffing is urgently hiring for a Material Sales Specialist.
Material Sales Specialist Job Details
Pay Rate: $21.00–$25.00/hr, depending on experience
Location: Columbus, OH
Material Sales Specialist Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing position required.
- Sales experience in building materials, construction products, or fencing supplies preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Ability to professionally assist customers in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Experience preparing quotes, processing sales orders, and coordinating customer requests preferred.
- Familiarity with wood, chain link, vinyl, aluminum, and steel fencing products preferred.
- Knowledge of fencing installation practices and local requirements is a plus.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn order management software.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in business, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong communication with team members.
- Professional attitude, accountability, and willingness to take initiative.

About the Material Sales Specialist Role
As a Material Sales Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Greet customers and provide professional assistance with fencing material purchases.
- Respond to incoming phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries.
- Assist contractors, builders, installers, dealers, and homeowners with product selection.
- Prepare accurate quotes and process customer sales orders.
- Follow up with customers to help convert quotes into completed sales.
- Recommend fencing materials based on project requirements and customer needs.
- Identify opportunities to recommend additional products, including posts, gates, hardware, and tools.
- Develop knowledge of wood, chain link, vinyl, aluminum, and steel fencing products.
- Explain product differences, materials, finishes, and installation requirements.
- Stay informed about product availability, pricing, and market trends.
- Assist customers with applicable fencing codes and HOA requirements when appropriate.
- Convert quotes into jobs using Jobber software as needed.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and delivery teams to fulfill customer orders.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs.
- Schedule deliveries and customer pickups.
- Provide customers with updates regarding order status, backorders, and delays.
- Resolve customer concerns and product-related issues professionally.
- Maintain accurate sales records and customer information.
- Coordinate estimates, appointments, service calls, and office calendars.
- Assist with office supply inventory and administrative organization.
- Support facility maintenance and daily office operations as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and business partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, customer service, and daily operations.
- Follow company policies and maintain a professional work environment.
- Perform additional sales, customer service, and administrative duties as assigned.
