Laboratory Technician
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Shift: 2nd / 3rd Shift
Schedule: Biweekly rotation
Shift: 2nd / 3rd Shift
Schedule: Biweekly rotation
- Week 1: Monday–Friday
- Week 2: Monday–Sunday, based on customer demand
- Must be flexible and available to work weekends as needed
Assignment Length: 90 days
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Laboratory Technician to support product quality and production operations. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing process and finished-product samples, performing laboratory testing, documenting results, and communicating testing results to operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, good math abilities, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare process and finished-product samples for testing.
- Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures.
- Conduct daily process-monitoring tests throughout the facility.
- Record and document test results using computerized laboratory systems.
- Maintain samples of tested products for verification when necessary.
- Promptly communicate test results and required process adjustments to operations.
- Perform light maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of testing procedures and results.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.
- Compare equipment readings against established standards to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary laboratory workspace.
- Properly clean, wash, and store laboratory equipment.
- Work effectively with team members and maintain positive working relationships.
- Follow all applicable safety, quality, environmental, and company standards.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Perform other laboratory and production-support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Preferred Education:
- Associate degree or higher in a science-related field preferred.
- Two or more years of science-related education is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
- Laboratory, manufacturing, or plant experience preferred.
- Experience with laboratory documentation and record keeping.
- Experience operating standard laboratory equipment, such as:
- pH meters
- Balances
- Spectrophotometers
- Experience with laboratory instrument software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform laboratory calculations.
- Demonstrated history of reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Strong safety awareness and work history.

PPE Requirements
Candidates must provide and wear:
- Long pants
- Safety-toe boots
- Boots must be a minimum of 6 inches in height
- Boots must have a defined heel
