Appliance Repair Technician Job Details
Schedule: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00–$25.00/hr
Location: Columbus, OH
Job Type: Full-Time, Temporary/Contract
Appliance Repair Technician Requirements/Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
- Basic electrical knowledge required.
- Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
- Experience performing mechanical repairs and equipment maintenance preferred.
- Dock and door equipment experience preferred but not required.
- Welding and electrical repair experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to maintain accurate electronic service and repair records.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal departments.
- Must maintain a clean driving record.
- Ability to travel safely between customer locations.
- Comfortable performing repair and maintenance work in various environments.
- Ability to prioritize service requests and complete repairs efficiently.

About the Appliance Repair Technician Role
As an Appliance Repair Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate faulty equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Perform necessary repairs to restore equipment to proper operating condition.
- Inspect equipment components for wear, damage, and operational concerns.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and basic electrical repairs.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment to complete assigned service work.
- Verify equipment is functioning properly following repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of service work and completed repairs.
- Document repair activities within the electronic service record system.
- Work with the Operations Manager to improve labor efficiency and service productivity.
- Communicate with parts and sales departments to coordinate repair needs.
- Assist with identifying necessary replacement parts and service materials.
- Ensure customer service requests are addressed in a timely manner.
- Travel between customer locations to perform assigned service work.
- Maintain safe driving practices while traveling between service appointments.
- Perform repairs and maintenance in a variety of work environments.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Communicate equipment concerns, repair progress, and service needs effectively.
- Organize daily service activities to maximize productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow established safety procedures and equipment repair guidelines.
- Work independently while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Collaborate with team members and management to resolve equipment issues.
- Complete additional equipment repair and service duties as assigned.
