Emergency Department RN Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license or qualifying multistate compact license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience required
- Recent Emergency Department experience must be confirmed before submission
- Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
- Experience establishing and managing IV access
- Proficiency with medication administration and emergency treatments
- Ability to recognize and respond to urgent changes in patient condition
- Experience assisting with emergency and trauma procedures
- Strong clinical-documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Ability to operate standard Emergency Department and resuscitation equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Emergency Department patients during the night shift.
- Rapidly assess and triage patients according to clinical urgency.
- Monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies.
- Establish and manage IV access.
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with emergency and trauma procedures.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to urgent changes in patient condition.
- Operate cardiac monitors, bedside monitors, defibrillators, and infusion pumps.
- Use oxygen, respiratory-support, emergency, and resuscitation equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Educate patients and families regarding care, treatment, and discharge instructions.
- Coordinate care with physicians, EMS personnel, and other members of the clinical team.
- Follow all patient-safety, infection-control, and Emergency Department procedures.
- Perform additional nursing duties as assigned.
About the Emergency Department RN Role
Crown Staffing is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department for a 13-week, night-shift contract opportunity in Somerset, KY. This position provides fast-paced emergency nursing care, including patient assessment, triage, continuous monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and emergency response.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of nursing experience with recent Emergency Department experience that can be confirmed. Candidates must also hold an active RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
