CNA / Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Medical/Surgical
Lexington, KY
Pay: $18.00/hour
Position Type: 6-Month Contract | Day Shift
Schedule Information
- 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 12-hour day shifts
- Schedule based on facility needs
CNA / PCT Requirements
- Current CNA certification preferred (or applicable Patient Care Technician experience)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent CNA, PCT, Medical/Surgical, hospital, or comparable patient care experience
- Ability to assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility needs
- Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital policies
Equipment Used
- Patient beds
- Wheelchairs and transfer equipment
- Vital sign monitoring equipment
- Electronic medical records (EMR)
- Standard medical-surgical patient care supplies
Key Responsibilities
- Provide basic patient care under the direction of licensed nursing staff
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, and hygiene
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation
- Obtain, record, and report vital signs and patient observations
- Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment
- Report changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Stock patient care supplies and assist with unit organization
- Accurately document patient care and completed tasks
- Perform additional patient care duties as assigned
