Registered Nurse – Med/Surg Requirements
- At least one year of nursing experience
- Experience providing direct medical-surgical nursing care
- Strong patient-assessment and clinical-documentation skills
- Experience administering medications and treatments
- Ability to recognize and communicate changes in a patient’s condition
- Experience managing patient care plans
- Ability to work effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary staff
- Experience using electronic medical records
- Ability to operate patient monitors, infusion pumps, medication-administration systems, oxygen equipment, and patient-transfer equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care during the night shift.
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments.
- Monitor vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and prescribed treatments.
- Develop, maintain, and update patient care plans.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary staff.
- Safely operate patient-monitoring, infusion, oxygen, and transfer equipment.
- Follow all facility nursing, patient-safety, and medication-administration procedures.
