Schedule Information
- Night shift
- 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts
- 13-week assignment
Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Minimum of two years of recent Labor & Delivery or OB/GYN nursing experience
- Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills
- Experience monitoring fetal heart rates, contractions, and labor progression
- Experience administering medications, treatments, and IV therapies
- Ability to recognize and respond to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Strong clinical-documentation and patient-education skills
- Effective communication and interdisciplinary teamwork abilities
- Compassionate and family-centered approach to care
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor & Delivery and OB/GYN patients during the night shift.
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments.
- Monitor fetal heart rates, contractions, labor progression, and maternal vital signs.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in maternal or fetal condition.
- Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and IV therapies.
- Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and related procedures.
- Provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum nursing care as assigned.
- Prepare patients and equipment for deliveries and procedures.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and newborn care.
- Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation.
- Coordinate care with physicians, newborn-care staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Follow all medication-safety, infection-control, and facility procedures.
