Sewing Machine Operator
Hodgenville, KY
Pay: $15.00–$22.00/hour
Position Type: Direct Hire | 1st Shift
Schedule Information
- Monday – Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Sewing Machine Operator Requirements
- Previous sewing, hemming, or garment alteration experience preferred
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines preferred
- Ability to measure, cut, pin, and sew a variety of fabrics accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills for measuring and fabric calculations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Key Responsibilities
- Operate high-speed industrial sewing machines using a variety of fabric types, including cotton, rayon, polyester, and wool
- Measure, cut, pin, and sew fabric pieces according to specifications
- Perform garment alterations and made-to-measure sewing based on customer requirements
- Press finished garments using hand irons or pressing equipment
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality and accuracy
- Maintain sewing machines to ensure proper operation and report maintenance needs as necessary
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe
- Perform additional production and sewing duties as assigned
