Pay: $27.00/hour
Temp-to-Hire Position
Training Schedule
Training will take place on 1st Shift for approximately 3 weeks before transitioning to the assigned shift schedule.
CNC Tooling Technician Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–7 years of experience in a tool room, machine shop, or precision machining environment required
- Strong understanding of CNC programming and ability to edit/upload programs into equipment
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge required
- Ability to work independently and self-manage on off shifts
- Experience manufacturing and repairing fixtures, dies, jigs, gauges, and special tooling
- Ability to hold tight machining tolerances (±.0005” or as required)
- Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Knowledge of tool steels, heat treating, and surface finishes preferred
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with frequent setup and teardown work in a machine shop environment
About the CNC Tooling Technician Role
Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Tooling Technician for a manufacturing facility in Fort Wayne, IN. This position is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture, repair, and modify tooling and precision components that support production operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong machining experience, the ability to work independently, and experience working in a fast-paced tool room environment with a focus on precision and quality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and manual machining equipment
- Edit and upload CNC programs into machinery as needed
- Manufacture, repair, and modify tooling, fixtures, dies, jigs, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings
- Hold tight tolerances and ensure precision quality standards are met
- Perform tooling setup, teardown, and machine adjustments
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools
- Support production operations by minimizing tooling downtime
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues as they arise
- Maintain safe and organized work areas while following company safety procedures
