Groundskeeper Job Details
Pay Rate: $16.00/hr
Location: Hebron, KY
Groundskeeper Requirements/Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance, or general labor experience preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed required.
- Experience using landscaping tools and outdoor maintenance equipment preferred.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment such as leaf blowers, weed cutters, edging tools, and snow removal equipment.
- Basic knowledge of lawn care, landscaping, and property upkeep.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on outdoor power equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, attractive grounds.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and maintenance information.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assigned projects efficiently.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with residents, contractors, coworkers, and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to safely work on ladders and elevated surfaces up to 40 feet, including roofs.
- Ability to work around moving equipment and occasionally loud machinery.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and proper equipment handling.
- Ability to provide and maintain required basic hand tools and safety equipment.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic required.
About the Groundskeeper Role
As a Groundskeeper, your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain the grounds and outdoor areas of an apartment community.
- Clean entryways, parking lots, sidewalks, and common outdoor areas.
- Remove litter, debris, and trash from the property.
- Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and designated waste collection areas.
- Inspect entryways for burned-out light bulbs and replace them as needed.
- Assist with routine swimming pool maintenance.
- Remove snow from roadways, parking spaces, and sidewalks.
- Apply salt and other approved materials to help prevent ice buildup.
- Plant and maintain grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs.
- Water lawns, landscaping, shrubs, and flowerbeds.
- Perform routine landscaping and property beautification tasks.
- Clean drainage ditches, culverts, gutters, and downspouts.
- Sharpen and maintain landscaping tools, including weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
- Perform minor repairs on outdoor power equipment, including blowers, chainsaws, and snow removal equipment.
- Assist maintenance personnel with apartment refurbishment projects.
- Support preventive maintenance activities throughout the property.
- Identify and report property maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with residents, subcontractors, coworkers, and management.
- Respond appropriately to maintenance requests and assigned tasks.
- Organize daily responsibilities to meet property maintenance standards.
- Work cooperatively with maintenance teams to complete projects efficiently.
- Follow established company policies, safety guidelines, and maintenance procedures.
- Complete additional groundskeeping and property maintenance responsibilities as assigned.
