RN – Labor & Delivery
Mayfield, KY
Pay: $45.00/hour
Position Type: 13-Week Contract | Night Shift
Schedule Information
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 12-hour night shifts
- 13-week contract assignment
Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Strong knowledge of maternal and fetal care practices
- Experience caring for laboring and postpartum patients
- Ability to perform maternal and fetal assessments and recognize changes in patient condition
- Strong critical-thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced hospital environment

- Fetal monitoring equipment
- IV pumps
- Maternal monitoring equipment
- Neonatal emergency equipment
- Electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Standard Labor & Delivery equipment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients within the Labor & Delivery department
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments and monitor labor progression
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Assist with deliveries, procedures, and emergency interventions
- Respond quickly and effectively to obstetric emergencies
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Support patient safety and follow hospital policies and procedures
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, and mobility needs
- Perform additional nursing duties as assigned
