Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Somerset, KY
Pay: $37.00/hour
Position Type: Travel Assignment | 13 Weeks
Schedule Information
- Day Shift
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Registered Nurse – ICU Requirements
- Current Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or comparable critical care nursing experience required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Strong critical care assessment, medication administration, infusion management, and clinical documentation skills
- Experience caring for critically ill patients in a high-acuity hospital environment
- Proficiency with cardiac monitoring systems, IV and smart infusion pumps, ventilatory support equipment, emergency equipment, oxygen delivery systems, and electronic health records (EHR)
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while providing exceptional patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based practices
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor cardiac, respiratory, and overall patient status
- Administer medications, vasoactive infusions, blood products, and other prescribed therapies safely and accurately
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, IV pumps, and emergency equipment
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and assist with life-saving interventions when needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record while ensuring compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care initiatives while delivering compassionate, evidence-based critical care
