Registered Nurse – Operating Room (RN OR)
Somerset, KY
Pay: $40.00/hour
Position Type: Travel Assignment | 13 Weeks
Schedule Information
- Monday – Friday
- 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
Registered Nurse – Operating Room Requirements
- Current Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license required
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent Operating Room or perioperative nursing experience
- Previous circulating and/or scrub experience preferred
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- ACLS certification preferred or required by the facility
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and surgical procedures
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining exceptional patient care and safety
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Prepare operating rooms by ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly
- Assess and prepare patients for surgery while verifying patient identity, procedure, and safety protocols
- Assist surgeons and the surgical team by maintaining a sterile field and anticipating procedural needs
- Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes in status
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards
- Promote patient safety through strict adherence to infection prevention and sterile processing guidelines
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care
