Summary
The Laser Operator is primarily responsible for laser cutting to specified dimensions, while contributing to
team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first
run production of parts to router requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work
orders.
2. Loads the appropriate computer program to operate the laser for the part in process.
3. Prepares machine for production by positioning parts on laser table with clamps or jigs.
4. Regulates machines by setting and adjusting controls.
5. Produces parts with program and verifies measurements with first piece inspection and properly
stress relieves part via annealing oven when applicable.
6. Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting defects, inspecting parts, and
adjusting controls.
7. Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications.
Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
8. Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on a timely
basis, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor
of necessity of repairs.
9. Meets daily production schedule.
10. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions,
irregularities, and continuing needs.
11. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
12. Contributes to continuous improvement process.
13. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge: A High School Diploma or GED is required for this position as well as 1 to 3 years
of Manufacturing Experience.
