Metal Cutter / Machine Operator Job Details
Monday – Thursday | 5:30 AM – 3:30 PM | $22.00/Hour
- 4-Day Work Week | 10-Hour Shifts
- Overtime possible and mandatory based on production needs
Metal Cutter / Machine Operator Requirements
- Previous machine operating, metal fabrication, or manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
About the Metal Cutter / Machine Operator Role
As a Metal Cutter / Machine Operator, your responsibilities will include:
- Cutting aluminum extrusions to specified lengths for production and welding
- Loading aluminum extrusions onto saws weighing up to 50 pounds
- Operating three automatic saws by loading material and removing completed parts
- Operating a metal shear to cut aluminum sheet metal to size according to prints
- Reading tape measures accurately to ensure materials are cut to the correct dimensions
- Loading and unloading a Vertical CNC Machining Center
- Using calipers to inspect parts and verify dimensions
- Following established quality and inspection procedures
- Cleaning and inspecting cut and machined parts
- Palletizing completed parts for the next stage of production
- Preparing cut aluminum components for welding and additional manufacturing processes
- Monitoring parts throughout the cutting and machining process for quality
- Maintaining an organized and safe work area while running production
- Performing general housekeeping throughout the shift
- Assisting with additional metal cutting, CNC machine operation, and production duties as assigned
