Job Description

Crown Staffing is urgently hiring for a Screw Machine Setup / Operator.

Screw Machine Setup / Operator Job Details
Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:00 AM; overtime possible on Fridays
Pay Rate: $22.00–$25.00/hr
2nd Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hr
Location: Hamilton, OH

Screw Machine Setup / Operator Requirements/Qualifications
  • Resume and interview required.
  • Connector PPW required.
  • Previous screw machine setup and/or operating experience preferred.
  • Ability to read calipers and precision measurements.
  • Ability to read CNC prints and understand dimensions to .000.
  • Ability to complete quality forms, daily inspection forms, and other required paperwork.
  • Ability to use hand tools, including air guns, wrenches, and drill presses.
  • Ability to understand and operate machine controls.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety, quality, and ISO requirements.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to train and assist less experienced employees.

About the Screw Machine Setup / Operator Role
As a Screw Machine Setup / Operator, your responsibilities will include:
  • Set up and operate screw machines according to production requirements.
  • Perform setup inspections before releasing jobs to operators.
  • Complete first-piece verification according to department requirements.
  • Make setup adjustments and change drills and taps to maintain product specifications.
  • Read drawings, setup cards, shop orders, inspection charts, and move tags.
  • Measure parts and record inspection results accurately.
  • Monitor machine operation and troubleshoot machine problems or variations.
  • Ensure operators understand proper machine operation, safety devices, inspection requirements, and product handling.
  • Document scrap and complete required quality and production paperwork.
  • Participate in corrective action processes and communicate quality concerns.
  • Maintain proper documentation throughout the production process.
  • Train new and temporary employees as needed.
  • Assign operators to jobs when required.
  • Use the scheduling board and understand shop order staging procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all ISO, safety, quality, and 5S requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
