Job Description
Psychiatric Clinical Registered Nurse
Louisville, KY
Pay: $40.00–$44.00/hour
Position Type: Full-Time | Day Shift
Schedule Information
- 32–40 hours per week
- 4–5 days per week
- Day Shift
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
Psychiatric Clinical RN Requirements
- Active Kentucky RN license or Compact RN license valid in Kentucky
- Previous experience in ambulatory care, specialty clinic, infusion therapy, oncology, PACU, procedural nursing, or care coordination preferred
- Current peripheral IV insertion and IV medication administration skills required
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient education abilities
- Experience with prior authorizations, medical documentation, and electronic medical records preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently as the primary nurse within a physician-led practice
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and clinical support for patients receiving psychiatric treatments and IV therapies
- Insert peripheral IVs, administer prescribed medications, and closely monitor patients throughout treatment sessions
- Assess patient responses, recognize changes in condition, and provide education regarding treatment and aftercare
- Coordinate clinical operations, including triaging patient portal messages, phone calls, and pharmacy requests
- Complete prior authorizations, disability and FMLA paperwork, and medical record coordination
- Prepare patient charts and maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record
- Collaborate closely with the psychiatric provider to ensure safe, efficient, and personalized patient care
- Maintain clinical workflows while supporting a high-quality patient experience in a small specialty practice
