Job Summary
Crown Staffing is seeking an experienced and driven Controls Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting new product launches, optimizing production efficiency, and assisting with quality and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, experience in a manufacturing environment, and knowledge of process improvement methodologies within an IATF 16949 environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes to maximize productivity and cost efficiency.
- Create detailed work instructions, operating procedures, and setup documentation.
- Utilize lean manufacturing techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain process sheets, PFMEAs, and control plans.
- Maintain IATF 16949 documentation and support manufacturing process improvements.
- Participate in APQP activities, including program meetings and new product launch management.
- Facilitate PPAP processes and apply statistical techniques as needed.
- Support problem-solving efforts and quality concern resolution.
- Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns, corrective actions, and performance improvements.
- Analyze production and pareto data to identify scrap reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with machine builders to optimize equipment layout and production strategies.
- Assist with supplier development and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct data analysis and support operational efficiency projects.
- Visit plants, suppliers, and customers as needed to support business operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent required.
- 4–6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Robotics and PLC knowledge is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IATF 16949 standards and industrial engineering principles.
- Experience with PFMEA, DOE, and process improvement methodologies preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making abilities and excellent attendance history.
